Simple Homemade Pizza Dough
Pizza dough has always been something I have personally challenged by. It feels like every time I try to make it the dough either doesn't rise properly, or tears too easily when forming the pizzas. This recipe takes the guesswork out of that and gave me sturdy, delicious pizzas.
These instructions are for making dough with a KitchenAid Style mixer with a dough hook.
Ingredients
- 500g Flour (Type 00 for Best Results)
- 1 tsp Instant Dry Yeast
- 320 ml Room Temp Water
- 13g Salt
Instructions
- Add flour and dry yeast to your mixing bowl, and turn the mixer on low speed for 1-2 minutes to combine.
- Once mixed, slowly pour in the water and mix for 5-8 minutes until the water is well incorporated.
- Once water is well incorporated, add the 13g of salt to the dough and mix for an additional 10-12 minutes.
- Remove the dough from the mixer and loosely shape it into a ball before covering and letting rest at room temperature for 1 hour.
- Portion the dough into three individual balls and then rest for an additional 2 hours at room temp in an airproof container/covered.
- Move dough to the fridge and let it rest overnight.
- The following day, pull the dough 1-2 hours prior to assembling your pizza.
- Shape your pizza and add your choice of sauce and toppings. Bake at least at 400 degrees (although you can go higher). Bake until the crust turns golden and cheese has melted.
Enjoy!
